LucasArts has been the less exposed publisher to next-generation... until now: as a matter of fact we can now count on 2 titles, one of which is based on the Star Wars franchise, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.
Going into details, the Dutch website GameFront has been able to reveal some very interesting info on the next Star Wars game. Here they are:
- The game will be set between Episode III and Episode IV;
- Darth Vader has understood that Palpatine is corrupted but, not being able to go against his master, he'll grow up an apprentice: us;
- As Darth Vader's apprentice we'll have to kill every Jedi we'll encounter and, probably, among them Shaak Ti;
- We'll have several Force power since the very beginning of the game. Some example are the Repulsion and Push powers;
- Most powerful Force powers will be balanced through a charging system that won't allow us to use them without "any concentration";
- Rancors, monsters we all know thanks to Episode VI, will be part of the game and we could be their food, depending on our reflexes;
- Darth Vader will be a playable character;
- Developers are thinking about some sort of multiplayer mode;
- The game is scheduled for release on November 2007.
And, fortunately, news are not finished! LucasArts has both opened a site completely dedicated to the game (and to the new Indiana Jones), released some artworks you can see visiting our gallery and shared a couple of tech demos of their DMM (Digital Molecular Matter) and Euphoria engines.
Pretty an update, uh?
