This stunning news comes directly from Microsoft support and was the answer the operator gave to a new Xbox 360 owner who phoned to get some explanations.

The operator said that Microsoft is really committed in trying to reduce the technological gap between the "old" Xbox 360 versions and the new "Elite" one, and the most probable way will be the adoption of a component-HDMI adapter specifically studied for the next-generation Microsoft console.

How this will work is not very clear, even because this adaptor will have to convert the signal from analogue (component) to digital (HDMI): let's only hope this will be done in a lossless way and (preferably) also cheap one.
